Chevening

The Chevening Scholarship, offered by the British Foreign Office since 1983, takes its name from Chevening House, the official residence of the relevant Ministry. This scholarship program offers successful candidates the opportunity to pursue a Master`s degree in the United Kingdom. In addition to the Master`s program, the scholarship also aims to bring you closer to British culture and provide opportunities for cultural exchange during the program.

This scholarship opportunity, which is offered annually to approximately 2,000 successful students from more than 160 countries, provides free education to candidates who are successful in their field, talented and have high knowledge in their portfolio. The scholarship program, which welcomes students in many different fields, accepts applications for postgraduate degrees, especially in areas such as human rights and law, economics, environment, media, international relations and politics, defense studies and energy.

Under the scholarship program, all expenses such as tuition fees, living expenses, accommodation, visa and travel expenses are covered by the British government.

As a citizen of Turkmenistan,

At least 2 years of experience in the relevant specialty,

Having completed an undergraduate program that meets the prerequisites for a relevant postgraduate degree in the United Kingdom,

Achieve English language proficiency with a score of 6.5 on IELTS or 79 on TOEFL or 176 on CAE.

Среди критериев программы очень важным является требование вернуться в Туркменистан после завершения обучения в Соединенном Королевстве и взять на себя обязательство оставаться в Туркменистане не менее 2 лет. Кандидатам, которые не могут выполнить это требование, может быть предложено возместить все расходы, понесенные в рамках стипендиальной программы. Те, кто ранее получал стипендию Chevening, те, кто имеет двойное гражданство, одним из которых является Соединенное Королевство, или те, кто ранее воспользовался другой стипендиальной программой, предоставленной британским правительством, не могут воспользоваться этой стипендией.

Applications are submitted online at http://www.chevening.org/turkmenistan and supporting documents must be uploaded in PDF format at the time of application. Candidates are also asked for documents such as photograph, ID, letter of recommendation, diploma and transcript at the time of application. Documents such as language scores can be added to the system even after the application is launched, as long as they do not exceed a specified date. The main criteria for scholarship applications are language proficiency, references and interview stages.
