Objective: To develop basic knowledge, expand vocabulary and improve oral and written communication skills to use French in everyday situations.

What is covered:

Deepening grammar knowledge: learning compound verb tenses (Passé Composé, Futur Simple, Imparfait), conditional sentence constructions, negations, relative pronouns and adverbs.

Vocabulary for everyday situations: expanding vocabulary to include topics such as:

Shopping: describing products, expressing preferences, communicating with shop assistants.

Travel: airport, hotel, transport, city navigation.

Restaurant: ordering, discussing the menu, expressing gratitude and commenting on the food.

Simple written communication:

Writing letters (personal and formal), short notes and emails.

Making schedules, lists and plans.

Using polite forms of communication in writing.

Understanding and participating in simple dialogues:

Improving listening skills, participating in everyday conversations.

Constructing logical statements, using basic linking words to keep the conversation going.

Basics of French culture and customs:

Introduction to traditions, holidays, features of French cuisine and etiquette.

Basic expressions typical of different regions of France.

Popular French songs, films and literature to practice the language in a cultural context.

Pronunciation practice: focus on improving pronunciation, intonation and fluency.

This course will help consolidate the knowledge already acquired and move on to more confident practice of the French language in various everyday and social situations.
